The name "EyeDub" originates from the initials of my name...I.W. for Irene Wongtragool (WONG - TRA - GOOL).
I began my interest in photography at a very young age. I love capturing everyday candid moments, but it wasn't until 2012 that I decided to get more serious about photography and invested in some digital cameras -- I retired my point-and-shoot cameras for a Canon Rebel T4i then to a Canon 5D Mark III, but you'll still find me shooting with my iPhone on a regular basis, because let's face it...who leaves home without a phone these days?
In November 2013, I stepped away from my full-time engineering job, traveled for a bit, and when I returned in late April 2014, I decided to start EyeDubPhotography and officially launched in June 2014 -- This is my passion project! It's been an incredible journey so far and have greatly appreciated everyones support.
More about Irene
I was born in Los Angeles, raised in Moorpark then West Hills, went to college in San Luis Obispo, moved to Redondo Beach, then moved to Northern California. I now reside in San Jose. I am by definition a "California Girl". This will always be "home"!
I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and while I was building a career as a Quality Engineer for various medical device companies and start- ups for close to a decade, my true passion is photography. I love playing tourist near and far and capturing beautiful landscapes.
Through my landscape, nature, and cityscape photography, I hope to encourage people to travel more -- to see the world, understand different cultures, and find ways to conserve and preserve. I want my work to be a reminder that you need balance in your life and also that the world is beautiful yet fragile place. It needs to be seen, and it needs to be taken care of.
Join me in my journey!
